This photograph is posted as my small contribution to the celebration of “Woman’s Day” today. It’s almost inconceivable in today’s time that women still suffer gender discrimination.
By pure chance, yesterday my wife and I watched a gripping WW II documentary about the siege of Stalingrad. It showed many many women fighting alongside the regular Russian army troops in the most brutal conditions imaginable. I doubt I will ever see a better example of the equality of the sexes.
We’re walking to town yesterday and I’ve a letter in my pocket to mail. We come to the main post office which is huge, clean and well lit. I go in to drop the letter off and can’t find the damn mail slot. I go outside to tell Sarah I’m stumped. She walks in, goes directly to the drop off point and mails the letter……So endeth the lesson.
I’ve grown pretty disgusted with the leadership qualities of males. They (spoiler alert: we) seem hard wired for conflict and in general tend to listen badly. It’s way past time for the pendulum to swing in the the other direction.
