This is taken in our local Starbucks at midday. I was struck by how many people, especially the ones in the foreground, seemed not particularly engaged with anybody. The exception to this is the lady at the right in the pink dress. Maybe this lack of focus is a result of us becoming so addicted to digital screens, not faces.

It’s hard not to notice that people in public or semi-public spaces never interact with each other any more. Everyone is on a digital device of some sort. Even the guy not currently on his cell phone, is clutching it at the ready as he watches some daytime drivel on the wall mounted TV set.
