This is just a quick photo with my Apple iPhone as I was walking by the Frog Pond yesterday. I had no conventional camera. Do you know the french painter Georges Seurat? This shot reminds me of him.
My point here is not that this photograph is somehow some great work of art. It does however underscore the point that the era of stand alone cameras is under severe attack by that gizmo we all carry in our pockets or purses.

These three girls graphically represent what is happening to photography today. The camera on one’s smartphone is the camera of choice for most people. Even if it means putting it at the end of a long pole and almost boinking the head of a passing photographer who wasn’t looking where he was going because he was concentrating on taking a picture of this happy trio of tourists.
Luckily the cellphone at end of their pole nicely fit into my frame so all’s well that…(etc.)

I love this for its sheer weirdness. It’s 90 degrees outside and along comes this enormous rather menacing guy in a wool hat and heavy coat listening to music! This is why street shooting is such fun. By the way I took this picture on my iPhone.
