Joy

This lovely lady is currently 14 years sober. She is the executive director of a shelter for the homeless and another one for battered women. She used to sell all kind of drugs on the street to support her habit. She’s been there, seen it all and stepped back from the brink just in time to turn her life around.

The wonderful infectious joy she had is hard to explain but, in her presence one could definitely feel it.

Chance encounters like this one this morning are an absolute gift!

PS I also should give CVS credit for letting her raise money for her charities in front of their Petaluma store.

Bowtie Wearer With Bad Knees I spent my early years in Massachusetts in a little town called Easton. I went to Harvard, served in the Navy as Operations Officer on and LST, founded a construction company and served in the state Legislature as Assistant Minority Leader. However my life really began when I moved to Maine and opened an art gallery. I've been around the fine arts in the commercial art business for over 25 years now and loved (almost) every minute of it. I look at every day is a gift, except when it's very cold outside or I have to go to the dentist.

I'd love to hear from you
