Looking At Art

Sarah and I went yesterday to the Harvard Art Museums, a group of art activities within the university, brilliantly brought together under one roof by the renowned architect Renzo Piano.

To say the place was stunning is an understatement.

What Piano did for Harvard was to create a place where the art comes first. A pretty basic concept you say? Yes it is, but so many world famous architects put themselves and their creation above what what the building is ment to be used for. Not here. Everywhere you go, looking at, appreciating and interacting with the art is the number one priority.

If you ever get an opportunity to vist this place, do it. You’ll be so glad you did.

Bowtie Wearer With Bad Knees I spent my early years in Massachusetts in a little town called Easton. I went to Harvard, served in the Navy as Operations Officer on and LST, founded a construction company and served in the state Legislature as Assistant Minority Leader. However my life really began when I moved to Maine and opened an art gallery. I've been around the fine arts in the commercial art business for over 25 years now and loved (almost) every minute of it. I look at every day is a gift, except when it's very cold outside or I have to go to the dentist.

I'd love to hear from you
