It’s really too bad but the harsh reality of the digital world we live in is that some stores simply can’t compete with the online behemoths like Amazon. So it is with camera stores.
I am sure the people who still run these anachronistic throwbacks to another time do so for the pure love of being around photography. The cameras and lenses, the bags and tripods, the million little gadgets that photographers use in their never-ending hunt for capturing a beautiful meaningful sliver of human existence on this planet.
This guy is one of those romantics who remembers what developer and stop bath smelt like and still enjoys the black magic of making people feel that the next camera they buy will turn them into Henri Cartier Bresson or Ansel Adams.
His shop is his sorcerer’s cave.
